Volga-Dnepr Technics finds a new solution for line engine repairs in adverse weather conditions


Adverse weather conditions failed to stop Volga-Dnepr Technics’ (VDT) engineers from completed an urgent engine repair on a Boeing 757 operated by Russian carrier, I-Fly.

VDT brought a mobile hangar to Chelyabinsk Airport to ensure if could carry out the repair on the aircraft, which had been grounded followed bird ingestion into the RH engine. Using the temporary hangar enables the work to be completed successfully despite stormy weather, high winds and low temperatures

The I-Fly Technical department has previously approached Volga-Dnepr Technics to help find a quick solution, which resulted in the arrival of the mobile hangar. The engine was subsequently repaired using replacement parts in the shortest possible timescale, allowing it to return to commercial operations.
